Craig and Jaylyne Reynolds: Hugo passed his MCOMPS, the test to determine 'worthiness' to continue in the doctoral program. Kirsten commented, "Now the real work begins." Elise is in her last semester of her Master's Program. Jordan and Janneece were disappointed to find out that Biology 101 is required before he can take biochemistry, which extends his graduation date to December. Unfortunately, this requirement was not listed in th

e catalog, nor was Biology 101 listed as a requirement for Chemistry. Ben is learning a computer program at home which will help him in his employment. He is also continuing to work on his Masters', one class at a time. James is making welcome progress with the help of the pre-school he is in. Amazingly, Julie manages to get him to his school and therapy and take care of Sierra and everything else. Sarah and Clint are continuing their schooling. He hopes to start his own business in trouble-shooting computer problems and fixing them. Craig is planning to join the ranks of the ‘retired’ soon.

August is a family name from Travis’ German line.

JAY AND LORINDA & FAMILY:

All our children came home for Christmas except for Rachel and Brian. Lanette & Shaun brought David and Karina and we appreciate their sacrifice of travel comforts. They were in the back seat with Iris and Karina only had 15 inches of sitting space. We were all enamored of Iris and love the picture updates on Lanette and Shaun's blog. She unfortunately received her first bruise on our watch. Oops. Jacob's working on an ambitious eagle project and will complete that this spring. He's marking and clearing a hiking path at the Girl Scout's Campground and placing informative markers along the trail and building two benches at the end of the trail. He and Jeremy both enjoy playing church basketball on Thursday nights and practice wrestling most other nights. Sam likes to play sports and not in a competitive way. Our family is planning a summer trip to Nauvoo and welcome suggestions of places to go while there.

Lyndon & Debbie & Family

We don’t have much of anything to share. We had a nice Christmas with our family, but was glad to see it come and go! Lyndon is the same as always, busy with work and church callings. I am kept busy with things around the house, doing some quilting and watching grandkids occasionally, which I enjoy! Dallen is enjoying school at the University of Utah. He is dropping his Japanese and just going to get a minor in it. He is still continuing with Linguistics and wants to decide where to go from there.

All of our other kids are doing well and keeping busy with kids and what not. Lyndon did come home on Monday and say he has a business trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico and has invited me. I am excited to go with him and have some quality time together. His business will only take one day and then we will have the other two to see the city and the beach, etc. The two other days will be travel days, as the flights will be 9 hours. I will have to bring along a good book and maybe some hand work. Life is good here at our household, now that we are over our bronchitis and sinus infections etc. We hope we continue to stay well, We are tied of illness. We are just starting into Ward Conferences for our Stake and so that will keep Lyndon and I busy for the next couple of months. We also have a new addition to our family. We adopted a three year old kitty. We sure like her. She is a nice addition and we like having her around. We just call her “Kitty”. We couldn’t decide on a name, so there you have it. The Alaska Kiffers are doing well and glad (on the most part) to be home! Ken w/the help of Don and Allen just about finished Mom's deck before we left--suppose we'll have to return to put in the stairs! Between the two grandmas here and Ken’s checkups, it seems we are spending too much time at the hospital! (Ken’s mother-in-law had pneumonia just before Thanksgiving—then just before Christmas she tripped over an electrical cord and cut her head open—spent the week before and a few days after Christmas with us, as the doc told her she couldn’t go home alone.) Karleen got to spend a few weeks in Provo with the Whelchel’s—and enjoys phone visits. karleen bullied Ken into agreeing to go to Provo for Jesse’s blessing February 5^th. Aaron has started his 2^nd semester of welding—hopefully, he’ll be able to find a great job in June!

Winter has arrived on the northern front! We had 18 inches last weekend with a forecast of another 8-20 today! (Hmmm...a huge difference between 8 and 20!) Glad to be working on the newsletter!

Darryl and Mary Cook & Family

The Idaho portion of the family spent a couple days at the cabin skiing last weekend. Heidi, Justin, John, Kandace, Darryl and Les have been busy trying to get the Driggs cabin ready to rent. A contract for the first renter has been sent! Darryl has been busy building log end tables and a log TV stand.

There is still no snow in Rigby, ID - STRANGE! The Keenans purchased a ski pass for Grand Targhee this year, so... hopefully, it is snowing in the mountains! Justin got a job teaching Special Ed part-time in Firth, ID. He’ll start after his back ground check is completed.

Jesse, Debbie and Evelyn have a job in Montrose, Colorado (new address below). We hear Colorado does have SNOW! (FYI: Valdez had 318 inches of snow as of last Friday!)

ED COOK. Tasia is doing extremely well. Still swimming, and playing in the Pep Band. On the morning of her birthday last year she passed the test to be a lifeguard, and is now employed at the Lava Pool. For those who did not know, the Lava Pool consists of 2 pools and one is now enclosed, so she is working all year. She is busy and happy. Soon, if not already, she will have her drivers license.

Les, Janey and the boys and grandchildren spent New Years at the cabin in Driggs. Phillip has an internship with Rocky Mountain Power in Salt Lake which will help pay the bills and prepare him for future employment as he has a couple of semesters to complete his degree. Mark is enjoying his job at the INEL, especially the paycheck. He recently replaced his water heater to find a water heater graveyard under his house. Allen is looking forward to graduation soon and the boys are a handful. Keith has moved to Pocatello. Grandchildren are really growing!

Don and Danna and Family: No news is good news!

Marilyn and Corwin and Family: Over the holidays everyone was home at some point or another. Derek and Ashley really like Colorado and the job--even more than Idaho Falls? One of Tanner's teacher is trying to pressure him into participating in Robotics because he has figured out how to really work the machine and program! Ryan and Brittany and Heather and Levi are doing well!

Randy and Joanne and Family: All the family came to Michigan for Christmas. It was great just being together. We played games and bumper car basketball, bowled, rode in go-carts and of course spent time talking and eating. We celebrated James' 2nd birthday on the 28th We were even able to do some sealings at the temple.

Two new family members will be coming this year. Tiana and Lindsay are both expecting. James will have a baby sister near the end of May and the Provo Baby Cook will debut mid-July.

We have had an offer on our house in Smithfield so we are hoping things will workout and we will be able get it sold.

Randy had a work retreat in Dominican Republic and I was able to tag along. One afternoon,we went on a company sponsored excursion to see and experience a bit of the culture of the island. It reminded me of the Philippines. We spent some time at the beach. The water and sand are incredibly beautiful.

We are enjoying Michigan and hope you all come to visit us. =o)

PS: I'll keep playing with getting the pics in the blog correctly! What a chore!The cute little boxes that occur randomly just appeared! I put them around the baby announcements, but as I drug pictures down into the body, they multiplied and ended up in the oddest locations! Many of you could certainly do this much better! It was suggested I look at Debbie (and Jesse's) blog and saw her links to other family blogs--what a great idea! So I hope you don't mind my including the other family blogs--and would encourage you to take a a look at them--they are extremely impressive!!!! Love the pics!
