FAMILY NEWS:
Lyndon and Debbie:
The Sandy
Cooks are doing just fine. No news is
good news! Although Dallen is home from Japan and heading back to school!
Ed:
Tasia is engaged to Jacob Thompson—they are
planning a May wedding.
Danna and Don:
Status
Quo at the Koyle house. Jared and Jen have returned to Utah. Status
Quo at the Koyle house. Jared and Jen have returned to Utah. Jordan and Sonya are finally expecting
#2, another little girl and are VERY excited.
Alexa can’t wait for her baby sister to get here; the little one is due
the beginning of June. Also, Jordan just graduated in December with his
masters degree in Industrial Hygiene (Public Health Services). He is in
Rhode Island for his Naval Officer training (Boot Camp or the equivalent for
officers) and will be gone for 5 weeks for training. We are being sent to our
first duty station, Japan. We will be at a Navy hospital base about 30 miles
south of Tokyo and will be stationed there for 3 years. Rachelle
is surviving her first year at Utah State.
Karleen and Ken:
Amber moved to Huntington Beach just after
the first of the year. She’s practicing
Karate with some of the great sensais in the area for the next six months. Aaron is working for AAA Moving Company—really
loves the Ketchikan stairs! James has completed his Bachelors in
Accounting—and is working for the Utah Department of Natural Resources as an
auditor. He and Courtney are anxiously looking forward to moving into bigger digs
next month.
Ken and Karleen are looking forward to their spring
temple trip—with a stop in Salt Lake City to visit grandchildren and Grandma. Karleen was recently called to serve as the
Compassionate Service Coordinator.
Randy and Joanne:
Randy and Joanne have moved to Utah—their new address is: 1269 Mahogany Drive, Fruit Heights, UT 84037.
Adam
is able to visit with them more frequently.
Randy is traveling more than ever, but hopefully it will slow down a
bit. Randy travels a lot for work.
He goes to London, Glasgow and the East Coast telling business men what
to do to be more effective and gets paid for it. Joanne is loving the new
house in Fruit Heights Utah, and she has the best tenant downstairs. She
loves having someone at home with her. In
their new ward they serve as Greeters—just kidding! He is the assistant to the assistant Ward
Clerk. Joanne is a Visiting
Supervisor. Laura is the 16-17 yr old
Sunday School Teacher and Relief Society Chorister. Joanne is working on plans for quilts for Adam
and Emma, then a Valentine’s Day one, and some Fourth of July projects.
Seth and Carrie
and their family moved into a newly renovated lake house in Michigan.
They are hoping to sell their old home. All five kids are in school
and happy to be closer to the lake for ice skating purposes.
Adam is
living in Pocatello with the Mechams and still loving it. He has the best
sister that takes him to dinosaur exhibits and makes cool things for him.
Laura is
“renting” from her parents and just got a job teaching seminary in Bountiful.
A full time position is hoped for in May.
Nathan and Tiana are in Bonner’s Ferry; Nate interviews for other jobs, but they really
like where they are—and he’s serving as the Elder’s Quorum President.
Matt and Lindsay are in Kirksville, MO going to medical school. Emma joined their
family Nov 23rd. Their two kids keep them busy. They will be moving
to Utah—in June. Matt takes the boards
in mid-June!
Jaylyne and Craig:
Not a lot
has changed with Craig and me.
He has been called as Sunday School President again. The Bishop has asked
him to sit in the back of the chapel and observe who slips out so he can
encourage them to attend Sunday School. I am enjoying teaching Primary
with Sister Wilde. This year, we have six four year olds. Even
after having a class of 4, 5 and 6 year olds, some of whom had already turned
7, just 4 year olds are a shock! We are trying to plan very active
lessons.
Hugo officially has a PhD. He
defended his dissertation just before their wedding anniversary in
December. In September Hugo, Hugo Von and Leila participated in a
long bike trek from Lansing clear up across the Mackinac Bridge at the top of
Michigan's "glove." Kirsten
could give you more of the details, but Hugo Von and Leila were among the
youngest participants.
Life is
pretty much the same for ever one else, I think.
Darryl and Mary:
Darryl
and Mary are doing great! Mary has lost 120 pounds and is going
to the gym regularly; she and Darryl
are eating better, too. Mary’s Mom and
oldest brother died last fall within a few days of each other.
The Webster's
are doing well. Morgan is no longer a Sunbeam, and Ivie is now a teen. Life is
moving forward quickly! Heidi has 9
cub scouts to keep her young. Justin
is keeping busy with teaching and going back to school.
Vinson and Emilee have some big news-- they are moving back to the Seattle as of NOW. Vinson has a new job with a medical device
company called Verathon. We will be living with Vinson's parents while we look
for a place, so we won't have a new address for you until the next newsletter.
We are so excited to be
moving closer to family!
Zac is now
working as a facilities manager for ATK Aerospace (the old Thiokol). It’s a different kind of job that keeps him
busy! Homebase is still in Logan.
Les and Janey:
For not
having any news, they are quite busy! Les is making quilts for the
grandchildren—he’s completed 15 and has 6 to go! Janey
was called to be the 2nd Counselor in the Young Women’s today!
Robert and Tiffany and family are in their new home in
Anaheim—and loving it! Tiffany’s cousin
Cheyenne, who has been living with them, is engaged and getting married
February 14th. The lucky
young man is a returned missionary from Pocatello—Jerron Batt.
Les also
noted the Idaho Falls Temple is closing the middle of March for major renovations
until October 2016.
Grandma Cookie:
Grandma
just celebrated her 86th birthday!
Just 14 more to 100!
Lorinda and Jay:
The Joneses are down to a household of 3. Jeremy entered the MTC a week before
Christmas and seems to be doing well. He started a new thing called the
"Barefoot 100" where he challenges Elders to run around their residence
barefooted in the snow. Jay points out, "He's his mother's son."
Lanette used to call me often,
because she was bored and needed someone to talk to her. I haven't heard from
her much lately, I think it's because of her new calling as her ward's Relief
Society President. That really keeps her busy. Karina was invited by a High School friend to go to Washington, DC
after Christmas. So she spent 5 days there and flew in late last night. I
haven't had a chance to ask her about it, but she has made it obvious that she
has no wish to ride a METRO ever again. The rest of us are doing fine and
staying out of trouble
Corwin and Marilyn:
These
Cooks were unable to respond as they are in jail—will add more—later.
