CORWIN & MARILYN COOK:
Tanner has been transferred to Casper,
Wyoming. He is doing well—but is way too close to IF!

Dallen is doing good. He and a group went to Vietnam; he said it's playing the game Frogger, but it was a good trip.

DON & DANNA KOYLE:
Danna was able to fly to El Paso and
help welcome Morgan and spend time with Eli and Riley!
Rochelle graduates the end of May—on to
Utah State in the Fall.
KEN & KARLEEN KIFFER:
Karleen’s been reading and writing for a
multi-educational class that’s required for her to recertify – goody! Ken
and Aaron are busy emptying the beach of logs (cutting and splitting them
to put in the woodsheds for next winter).
The weather is such that grounds keeping work will begin shortly,
too! We’re heading south again in a
couple of weeks for Brycen’s blessing and to play with Jesse—and to visit with
Amber, Courtney and James, of course!
James is graduating for his associates
in May and with his bachelor's in December. We discovered that the arch in your
foot can just collapse and doctors don't know why! This happened to James
several years ago and we learned this information from the doctor who will be
making him inserts.
Courtney will be having surgery on her
hernia in April the day after her amazing parents come down for
graduation. Jesse and Brycen
are growing like the weeds in our complex's lawn. Jesse is so close to using
sentences and Brycen is gooing and gahing. We're excited for the day when our
children will sleep all the way through the night!
RANDY & JOANNE COOK:
We are still waiting for the birth of Nate and Tiana's baby. In the past the little ones have been
early so this has been a surprise that her due date is here and no baby. Maybe
she will surprise us and be born on her Grandpa's (Randy) birthday. (Breaking News: She was!)
Matt and Lindsay went to St Louis for Spring break. They had a great time. It was a
nice change of pace for them and good to get away. Matt is fast
approaching the end of his first year of med school.
Adam has been
spending the last month or so with Joanne
in Michigan. They will head back on April 10. Joanne will attend a
wedding in Logan and then meet Randy in Spokane. From there they will drive to
Bonners Ferry to see the new baby. (We are assuming that she will be here
by then.)
Randy has, as usual, been traveling.
A few weeks ago he was in Brazil and now he is headed for Singapore.
This is a bit unusual as most of the time he is working in the U.S.
Laura is again
teaching Institute. She is also working with the YW in her Ward and loves
it.
Seth and Carrie will be remodeling their lake house this summer and be moving into it
sometime in the fall.
Joanne has been
busy quilting, working on family history and has recently begun doing mediation
in Small Claims Court again.
CRAIG & JAYLYNE REYNOLDS:
Kirsten and Hugo report not much
is happening there, except. . . We hope we have earned bragging rights for enduring
such a long winter. We have decided to designate a "tool of the
year" and so far, the snow blower has it. We came home from our trip
over the holidays at the beginning of this year and after a harrowing drive
home from the airport, got stuck about 400 yards from our home at 4 am.
Hugo walked home and snow blowed a path for the van so we could get home.
This was while he and some of the rest of us were battling the beginnings of
the stomach flu. It was good we had several snow days off from school
because all of us got very sick and needed the rest. It was still in the
30's this morning! Spring is finally in the air though and the snow is
almost all gone. We are full swing into spring soccer prep and also
preparing for two recitals Hannah is putting on to try and earn money for her
Blue Lake Music Camp tour in Europe this summer. She is trying to earn money
and has a fundraising website to earn money. You can check out her website

expecting in July, but this pregnancy is not going as smoothly as my others so
chances are he will come early. This one puts us at 6, an even 3 boys and
3 girls. So, our 20 year plan has now turned into a 25 year plan.
Good thing we like Michigan! Hugo and the kids are getting into road
biking and he has told them that if they stick with the training, he will let
them come with him when he does the Dalmac in August. The recommended
preparation is 1000 miles of biking! The Dalmac is a bike ride (not a
race) that starts in East Lansing and goes along the Western side of the state
up to the top of the mitten and then across the Mackinaw Bridge. It takes 4-5 days. I am bummed that it is
not possible for me to get involved because it sounds like lots of fun.
Oh - and just FYI, Hugo turns the
big 40 in May. Hard to believe!
Andrea
writes: The
big news is that we have purchased two vehicles in the last two weeks…yes
TWO! While driving home
from work a month ago, Travis was rear-ended. The accident totaled the
car but Travis was okay. We were finally able to get a replacement
vehicle for Travis and also a 12 passenger van. The van was from a
surplus auction at BYU-I so we are still working on getting it down here to New
Mexico. With this new addition to our family, we had been wanting to
purchase a 12 passenger van so that I would be able to take all the kids with
me when I needed to go somewhere and so that we would all fit in one vehicle.
In
other news, we are beginning the baby countdown, less than 6 weeks left. We have also been able to juggle
getting all of the kids to where they are supposed to be…with the help of ward
members who had kids in the same events. Catherine was experiencing some knee
and ankle pain at track for about a week, but it has subsided. Ellie is still not able to run due to
her stress injury in her shin. But
she does a work out on the exercise bike at the school and then helps out the
coach. She also helps at
the meets. Katelyn and
Rebecca are still doing guitar club at school and enjoying that. Katelyn ran her final lap to reach 100
miles ran this school year for runner’s club. That was fun to go see.
August
is in that cute stage where instead of nodding his head, he sort of bobs his
head down in an exaggerated way. He
loves to be outside and puts dirt in his pockets etc. Last Monday, while I was on the phone
and trying to adjust the sprinklers outside (yes we are already watering the lawn
here), he got soaked by the sprinklers. It
really wasn’t terribly warm out, but I figured I could let him and Edie soak
themselves silly for a few minutes and then bring them in for a bath. I looked out the window just as he
slipped and fell bonking his mouth on the corner of the cement. Poor guy was so
cold and upset that he really just wanted me to hold him, but he really needed
to get in a warm bath. One
night we were having spaghetti for dinner. He asked for some butter on his
noodles. When I started to put it on he said No the red butter. He meant the sauce.
Elise's job
has been extended for a year. She loves what she is doing. She was
asked to write a 200 word article on why a collection of 5000 photos (taken by
a student photographer who is now very famous in the world of making films) is
important. She was also asked to select one of the 5000 photographs to
print in the school paper. Her article and the selected photograph were
published. She is also in the process of finding an apartment as her
current roommate is moving out to buy a home.
Julie went to
special training for parents of autistic children in Connecticut. It is
called the Son Rise program. She works very hard at home implementing
what she has learned and has found some volunteers to help. Ben is involved in a class to bolster
his job skills. Sierra delights them as she learns to talk more.
Those who follow Crystal's blog might enjoy the photos of Eric's Angry Birds birthday party. Crystal crocheted a number of the birds as well as stuffed bowling pins and a ball.
Jordan
and Janneece are
enjoying Jennifer Lynne who was born Feb. 5. Except for sleeping in the
day rather than at night, she is a delightful baby. They blessed her on
March 30, the day of a snowstorm.
Craig and
Jaylyne are
enjoying serving as missionaries in the Addiction Recovery Program.
Living the gospel truly blesses lives. We are looking forward to two new
grandsons (Andrea in May and Kirsten in July).
DARRYL
& MARY COOK:
Kandace and John are painting the house and reorganizing the kids' rooms--hmmm...musical rooms! Mallory was baptized on Grandma Mary's birthday. Ivy played the prelude music--she's having a recital in Rexburg at the Snow Building on Thursday.
Darryl and Mary have spent some time this winter--too little snow, though. Darryl flew over to visit Jesse and Debbie and kids in Melrose--they're doing well.
Zach and Jenny rented a dog for the boys to play with--all had an enjoyable time--now they're looking to get a dog! Zac just finished up his masters this semester and we are all done with school. He worked really hard and I am proud of him. I am still working as a stay at home mom. I love it most days. :) Owen is starting to talk and that has been really exciting! He is saying numbers and letters and he likes to echo us a lot and we LOVE it! William is learning a lot too. He is making lots of sounds and getting better and better at eye contact and interacting. They both love to play and laugh and are really great boys.

LES
& JANEY COOK:
Les spent a
month and a half on crutches. He took a fall helping someone move and his
knee swelled up and pained him severely. He spent a few days icing it and
telling himself it was getting better. After two weeks he went to the
doctor, had an x-ray (which showed nothing), was told to take Tylenol, keep
icing It and see the doc in another week. A week went by and he made an
appointment to see an orthopedic doctor who was very thorough. He was
scheduled for an MRI. That showed a small meniscal tear but not one that
needed surgery. After further discussion between the orthopedic and Les, it was decided to treat him for
gout. Six dollars and three days later he was able to walk again with a
slight limp and some stiffness. Be warned, gout can strike anywhere in
the body. With Les the gout
has always been in his feet. He is really good about his diet so he was
surprised. The crutches are now retired to the garage again. His smile is back
and he is anxious for warmer weather and the diminishing of spring blizzards.
Two new
grandbabies will become part of our family this year. Philip and Brittany
are expecting their little package in August. Robert and Tiffany are
expecting their bundle in October. We are all excited, of course.
Justin
and Emi are
running fast to keep up with Thomas who recently participated in a science fair
in Bremerton, Washington. They are always sharing beautiful pictures of
places they hike on Facebook. They are great photographers.
Robert
and Tiffany,
Cheyenne, Blake, and Lincoln, have year passes to Disneyland and enjoy their
proximity to the ocean in Long Beach. They are looking for a home as well
as waiting for the newest family member.
Mark likes
his job in security at the INL. They are in the process of selling their
home in Rigby. They will be living in Lisa's mom's home while she serves in the Nauvoo Illinois
Mission. Landon was recently ordained a deacon and attended the
Conference Priesthood Meeting with Grandpa Les and shared ice cream with us
afterwards. Carson will be
baptized April 12. Ethan has his braces off and is now wearing a
retainer. Sydnee continues working hard in first grade and is doing well
in the Chinese half-day immersion program. Lillie loves being two and the
boss of the house.
Allen and
Loreena are
celebrating Autism Month with blue lights on the exterior of their home.
Damien is receiving wonderful therapy and is beginning to verbalize. He is
making great strides. Christian goes to school with Dad every day and
loves his experiences. Wesley gets to stay home and help Mom. They
read together every day and he keeps her occupied with his boundless
energy.
Keith and
Amber, Kaden,
Ethan, and Lucas just returned from spring break in Texas where they went meet
Amber's dad for the first time. It was the first time on a plane for the
boys. They visited 6 Flags and spent lots of time with extended
family. It was hard to come home and go back to school and work.
Phillip has
enough hours accumulated to accompany Brittany
and her family on a trip to Scotland later in the spring. He likes what
he is learning at his job, and we are sure he is working hard as well.
GRANDMA

JAY
& LORINDA JONES:
Jacob is in Estonia again and is serving in Tallinn. He is excited about that
because he has a Jones ancestor that was born there. Belarus was difficult
because he was limited in what he could say on line. Their emails are
scrutinized and missionaries are told what to say and not to say to avoid
antagonizing country leaders and risk the missionary effort there. Definitely
do not mention names of investigators or members. He was experiencing
depression, and I'm very grateful to say that his letters are showing huge
improvement in that regard. Obviously, not a huge baptism rate there. A
Philippine man was baptized Sunday evening, but the most recent baptism before
that was in September for that city. One interesting thing he wrote about was
while serving in Minsk, Belarus, he noticed a chart showing the 12 Tribes of
Israel. Then they had marked the tribes that were represented by members of the
Minsk branch/ward. Eleven of the 12 were accounted for.
Jeremy will be graduating in June and is able to submit
his mission application anytime since he'll be 18 in September. Wow! I can't
believe we only have one creature left in our care. Time does fly!
Anyway - we are all well and trying to stay out of trouble by staying
busy.
